Seqwater Ekka Installation

The Seqwater installation was housed within the Agricultural Pavilion at the Ekka, and focused on community engagement and educating visitors on water usage through interactive and augmented environments.

The interactive globe allows people see how the water we drink is sourced, stored and supplied throughout South-East Queensland. The display encourages users to interact with the multi-touch screens, with interactions taking them through a story of catchment to tap, giving visitors insight on their relationship with the Grid, and reveals how they interact with it on a daily basis.

Ekka visitors also gained an augmented experience of how water catchments work through a virtual sandbox. This installation was targeted to younger users with the educational and interactive display enabling them to build their own terrain with sand, simulate rainfall, and learn the effects that take place.
